Chemistry has advanced more rapidly than medicine; and the reason of this, Dr. B. thinks, is because the former " has been cultivated entirely in the way of experiment and observation." But, in the first place, we are far from agreeing with our author, that the doctrines of chemistry are founded on an imperishable basis?
